Sugar Rush Grand Re-Opening!
Sugar Rush has moved in case you hadn't seen their swanky new digs in the Oakwood Mall. The store moved from its previous location near Way Out West earlier this month.
Sugar Rush is a full-service salon and a boutique and offers events/parties services.
Sugar Rush specializes in kids cuts, massages, facials, men and women’s haircuts, nails and pedicure. They do everything. The salon also offers coloring, updos, facial waxing and makeup application. For kids cuts they have a taxi cab and airplane chair.
They also offers salon beauty products, including organic products sold exclusively in their store.
The front of the store contains a small boutique filled with clothing and one-of-a-kind jewelry. On the north side of Sugar Rush there is a 3,500-square-foot party room ready for almost any event. They have a DJ, catering, built-in bar and a limo.
There is seating in the event facility for up to 370 people and Sugar Rush offers parties for all ages.
The Sugar Rush grand re-opening is from 10 am to 9 pm Saturday, Aug. 1st. There will be a radio remote from 1 pm - 3 pm and drawings throughout the day. Stop by and book a party and you'll receive $50 off.

Enid is suddenly in need of a few high rollers. Two mansions in the Indian Hills area of town have found themselves on the market. Both homes are listed on the Garfield County National Register of Historic Places.
The H.H Champlin mansion is on the market for the first time. The home has been owned by family members since it was built in 1939. This is the largest home in Enid.
The Lamerton House is also currently on the market.
So, if you have a little bit of cash stowed away and you're looking to upgrade, now is the time to buy! These historic homes do not appear on the market very often. Good luck!

The old Ernie's Trading Post is being torn down. Ernie's was an Enid landmark for years and years and was one of the first businesses visitors would see as they drove into Enid. Several businesses have come and gone in the old building since Ernie's closed its doors but Enid natives will always remember that corner for Ernie's Trading Post.

The skies filled with a red hue Friday night as it looked like a storm was moving in. Turns out the unusual color was caused by smoke drifting over Enid from a distant fire.
Contract Signed for Enid VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic
Ann Kreutzer (Associate Director, OKC VA Medical Center) announced at the Oklahoma Veterans Council Meeting this week Integris has signed a contract with the Veterans Administration to open the Enid Community Based Outpatient Clinic on September 1, 2009.
That is great news for veterans living in Northwest Oklahoma because they can receive their VA medical appointments here in Enid rather than driving to Oklahoma City. Kreutzer stated she wasn't sure of the location for the clinic; however, thought the clinic would be co-located with an existing Integris Clinic here in Enid.

You can Help Identify Enid's Most Endangered Historic Places
The Enid Historic Preservation Commission has established a new program to identify Enid's 10 most Endangered Historic Places. Nomination Procedures and Nomination Forms are available on the City of Enid Web Site under the Community Development Department. Deadline for submission is just 3 months from now (October 1). The list will be published around January 1, 2010.
The program is designed to emphasize the importance of preservation across Enid and to encourage local groups to rally support for Enid's landmark buildings and sites that are threatened in some way from neglect, deterioration, lack of maintenance, insufficient funds, inappropriate development, or possible demolition.
