Remember Layfield Shoe Mart in Enid?
Renovation on the building at Grand and Broadway has uncovered some vintage signs from one of the past occupants. The building on the southeast corner of the intersection was once the Layfield Shoe Mart. It is currently a mattress store.
Wess Grey remembers Layfields selling some of the grooviest boots in town. Does anyone know what other businesses occupied this corner?

That is the infamous Anheuser-Busch building corner where 4 law enforcement officers were murdered, at different times. See articles on these murders here on Enid Buzz at http://enidbuzz.com/enid_legends.html.
