The new Executive Director is...
It was just announced that Nancy Gibson, current Halfway House Director, will be taking the reins as the YWCA's new Executive Director! She has been with the YWCA for 8 years, and has done incredible work as the Halfway House Director for the past two years. Please send your congratulations to: ngibson@ywcaenid.com.
Domestic Violence Awareness Month!
Due to 5% state budget cut, this year's activities have been scaled down. Plans include media outreach, church bulletin inserts, paycheck inserts for area businesses, proclamation by the City of Enid and public recognition of Enid's CCR team at the City's Oct. 20th meeting, booths at community events, and the annual cross display.
Get Involved This Month...
Please join the DV Task Force's 2nd Annual... Every Home a Safe Home event!
Friday, Oct. 9th - 6 to 7 p.m.
THE GOAL: To show the community that there is a united front in the effort to end domestic violence, and that every home in Enid should a SAFE HOME!
Please meet at the YWCA no later than 5:45 p.m. Participants will spread out to 5 busy intersections in the Enid community. Posters and handouts will be provided by the YWCA, but feel free to make your own as well! Last year everyone had a BLAST! Come join in! As many people as possible are needed to make an impact!
Don't forget to... WEAR PURPLE!
On Friday, Oct. 23rd!
Show your support for victims and survivors of Domestic Violence!
This is a GREAT idea for a business! Get ALL your employees to WEAR PURPLE!!
United Way Chili Cook-Off!
Don't forget to buy your tickets for the United Way's Annual Chili Cook-Off! Join the yummy fun on Friday, Oct. 16th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cherokee Strip Conference Center!
