Walk This Way Enid...
The Enid Metropolitan Human Service Commission and the Health Planning Committee announce the kickoff of the "Walk This Way" walking program to begin October 3 at Meadowlake Park.
Walk This Way is a six-week walking program designed to help people make walking a regular part of their lives. Families, individuals, businesses, organizations and churches are invited to participate. The first 500 participants to register will receive a free t-shirt. Walking logs will be provided to record the number of minutes walked over six weeks beginning October 3, 2009. Participants can pick up their t-shirts and walking log at the kickoff registration event on October 3, 2009 at 10am at Meadowlake Park or print their own at www.cdsaok.org.
People who walk and report at least 1,100 minutes of walking during the six-week period will be eligible for prizes including a Wii Fit and gym memberships. Families and teams of five may also register. Businesses will be recognized based on the percentage of employee participation. Participants will receive bonus minutes for attending events such as the Enid Farmer's Market and Scare on the Square.
For more information or for an electronic mailing of registration forms to your business, contact Teresa Bailey at the Garfield County Health Department 233-0650 or teresamb@health.ok.gov.
