Snow Bandits
My girls and I spent a little time in the snow yesterday building a snow bunny. The snow was perfect and the weather warmed up for a fun day outside. It wasn't much over an hour before two snow bandits drove up to our house, got out, and vandalized our poor, defenseless bunny. We've heard reports from around town that they also struck other unknowing snowmen.
We're not out to punish these unruly culprits but we would like to call them out and see if a little embarrassment might make them think twice the next time they decide to tackle every snowman in town.
Here's a description of the yutes: two white males, one with dark wavy hair, late teens, driving a gray/silver Toyota SUV (most likely a Highlander), OSU plates and a sports sticker in the back window (drivers side). We know they hit Indian Hills and the Waverly District but most likely other areas also.
Do you know these two? Dozens of little kids around town would like to pelt them with snow balls. If you know them, we'd like you to shame them into doing a little community service for making some very happy little kids cry.

OSU Plates? That sounds like typical Cowboys fan behavior.
Oh, come on...
If your children are crying because the snow bunny was damaged, then I fear how they will be able to handle real disappointment. I would focus my energy on other things.
I'm actually not focusing much energy on this, it was posted as a tongue and cheek post and we've moved on. But you obviously do not have very small children. My daughter spent her afternoon building something she was proud of and an adult aged kid driving a car stopped in her front yard and tore it down. She doesn't understand why someone would destroy something that was not theirs. She handles disappointment fine, she was just sad.
I explained that we did things like this in 6th grade and junior high. I'm not sure why a teenager considered an adult is driving around town knocking down things that are not theirs though.
My concern is that these could be the same boys that stole our pumpkin at Halloween and the same boys that shot a BB into our front window or the same boys that are breaking into cars in the neighborhood or maybe even the boys that will vandalize your property.
I'm sure everyone that is laughing that I even posted this will be singing a different tune when their brand new bush or tree is pulled out of their front yard or their mailbox is knocked off it's post by a baseball bat.
My 5 year old grandson saw his friend across the street build one and he built one also. He doesn't understand why those big kids knocked his friends down. My daughter came out the door just as they knocked the neighbors down or they probably would have gotten my grandsons. Let me tell you, they better be glad she only yelled at them because if she had caught them they wouldn't do it again any time soon.
When I was a kid back in the 60's, we would work really hard to build a snowman. Somebody would always tear it down. it never failed. It was sad that there are kids that have to tear up the joys of life. After a while we just got used to it. And moved on just like you are doing. I do hope that, who ever is vandalizing the neighborhood is caught. Do these guys not have a conscious?
I agree with shaggy. I always had idiot kids drive through my yard and tear it up. Some had a golf cart and did circles in my yard. Why it might seem funny, it costs allot of money to fix your grass if you have pride in your yard. If the property is not yours, do not mess with it. It does take a long time to build something like a snowman, it is a family event. When you tear it down, you are taking away that family joy and accomplishment, not just a snowman, but time and energy building something fun.
