It was interesting trying to get out of our neighborhood this morning. LaMesa addition was blocked by LOTS of police cars.
Like I said in another post, for some reason People love to rob Evans or just do illegal stuff in there, or dangerous stuff in there like the guy with the gun. Obviously it was the main Evans store, but not sure why Evans is a magnet for danger...
The rash of robberies is drug related. Several pharmacies in town have now been robbed multiple times. It definitely is not related just to Evans. Drug addicts rob places with drugs.
The other incident was a once in a lifetime event caused by a murderer looking for a quick way to end his life. Evans just happened to be close.
Evans has been in Enid since 1897, one of the oldest businesses in town. I doubt there have been a higher percentage of dangerous events there than anywhere else in town.
Yeah, I agree drug related. What I am talking about was about two years ago, some guys smacked the cashier across the head at evans trying to rob the place, then some other guys were caught in the parking lot from a big robbery, etc. Not bad mouthing Evans, I love that store. Just seems like since it has been around so long, that maybe I hear about it more or that Evans is such a brand name there it sticks in my brain when I hear it. Who knows. Thanks for the update though.
