As long as I can remember I've heard about this storm. I was just 15 days old and fresh home from the hospital. Somewhere, I'm told, there is a film that my dad shot standing out front of the house of the funnel coming straight towards him while everyone else in the family huddled in the cellar.
I mentioned this post to my older sister, who said between my cries, mom screaming at dad to stop filming and get in the basement and looking out the window and seeing it coming, she still remembers the storm vividly.
Hey Rhonda,
We need your dad's film! We could turn it into a video and post it online. Let me know if you ever dig it up.
That video has all but become my personal Holy Grail. Everyone swears it exists, but I've personally never seen it.
If it is from 1966 and no one has taken care of it for 43 years, it probably does not work anymore. But I wish you luck if you find it, I would love to see the video on enidbuzz, I like the videos on here.
