Reminder for Enid School Parents:
Here's the Plan ... In Case of Bad Weather
Safety is our first priority, and winter weather is no exception. Enid
Public Schools officials consider travel conditions and other factors
- including slick sidewalks and parking lots - before making a
decision about whether or not to cancel school.
If school will be closed for inclement weather or another unforeseen
reason, an announcement of such a closing will be made no later
than 6 a.m. the day in question on local radio stations and area
television stations. Tune in to the following for such announcements:
KCRC 1390 AM, KGWA 960 AM, KNID 107.1 FM, KOFM 103.1 FM and
KXLS 95.7 FM. Phone calls are also made to our partners at KEIF 104.7
FM and KLVV 88.7 FM, as well as PEGASYS. Additionally television
stations in Oklahoma City will be contacted, such as KFOR (NBC -
Channel 4), KOCO (ABC - Channel 5), KWTV (CBS - Channel 9) and
KOKH (FOX - Channel 8).
In addition to the announcements, when school is closed, phone
calls will be made to students' primary telephone numbers using the
district's SchoolReach notification system. The phone calls will
launch at 6 a.m. and most will be received within 15-20 minutes, as
long as the line is not busy. (If your phone number has
changed, please contact your child's school.)
Thank you for your cooperation.
