Many people may be wondering if aliens or the cast of The X-Files has arrived in the Oakwood Mall parking lot. Our undercover operation has turned up clues as to what is really going on. We have it on good authority that this may be... The 99!!
Yikes! What is The 99? A question we were asking ourselves. THE 99 is a walkthrough theater that graphically reenacts the five leading causes of death in teenagers and young adults. Many of these deaths are influenced by drugs or alchohol and a vast majority of them can be avoided.
THE 99 is a state-of-the-art production designed to portray the very real consequences of poor decisions that claim almost 37,000 young lives every year. The production is not based on fear or scare tactics, but rather is based solely on reality with each room designed from real life situations.
Several Enid Churches are presenting The 99 from July 5 through July 20. Learn more at www.whatisthe99.com.

If you live in Enid or have ever lived in Enid there's one thing for sure... you've heard the Vance airplanes go overhead. I've lived here long enough that I rarely even hear the planes anymore unless I really make an effort. Here's a tribute to a nice blue sky day in Enid, Oklahoma and what you would typically hear. The planes, the birds and see if you can catch the gust of wind.
Enid has many businesses and business owners thriving online. One business you may not have heard about is PondWorld.com. This local website is setting itself up to be one of the largest retailers of pond supplies on the Internet with an online catalog potential of over 1500 items including major brands such as Microbe-Lift, Crystal Clear, Savio, Pond Keeper, Tetra, Oase, and many more.
The ever-growing catalog of items on PondWorld.com is expanding to include more brands of water treatments, pond pumps, pond filters, algae control solutions, aerators and fountains, pond kits, fish medication, fish food, fish feeders and aquatic plant supplies to name a few. Additionally, the site also contains a constantly expanding Learning Center that features articles from various pond experts covering a wide range of topics geared towards the do-it-yourself pond owner.
PondWorld.com differentiates itself from many of its counterparts through its commitment to supplying products for all types of ponds. Rather than solely focusing on the typical backyard ponds and fish ponds that many retailers specialize in, PondWorld.com also carries an extensive line of supplies used in the maintenance of private waters, commercial waterways and farm ponds.

Saturday, June 21 is the official start to summer, the day when the sun will shine the longest and we can say good-bye to spring. What should you do on this first summer weekend? Well I'm here to tell ya.
1. Ride the train at Meadowlake 2. Get a cherry snowcone from any corner lot 3. Eat a burger at Pak-A-Sak (they are open) 4. See a movie (not The Happening) 5. Eat outside at an Enid restaurant 6. Go swimming at Champlin or Oakwood pool 7. Go to Splash Zone 8. Play Putt-Putt 9. Spend time at an Enid park 10. Play golf for fun somewhere in town 11. Garage sale 12. Play tennis 13. Adventure Quest anyone? 14. Go fishing
These are just a few ideas of summer things to do in Enid. What ideas do you have? Let us know!
Meadowlake was a buzz of activity last night. We cruised by Meadowlake last night to ride the train and found a bustle of activity. Although the picture is distant you can see the train off in the distance, people fishing on the spillway and another group of people feeding some geese.
Meadowlake is a great source of entertainment for Enid and everyone should take advantage of it. Last night there were cookouts going on and all of the rides were in operation. You can hit the rides from 6:30-9 p.m. weekdays and 3:30-9 p.m. on the weekends.
Admission for the train and carousel is $1.50 per person. The smaller kid rides on the pedal cars and airplanes are only 50 cents a ride.
So get out and enjoy the nice weather! And as we say at Enid Buzz, "There's always something to do in Enid!".
Here's a gas saving idea for Enid. Go back to the type of delivery service Enid had in the good old days. This photo shows an early form of UPS/Fed Ex delivery but Enid style.
The latest sign on the door says that P-A-S will reopen at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 18th. Kent will return to help make sure everything is made the original way and will then be leaving the business to the new owners. The new owners are Terry & Brenda Washburn
The pumps are gone and construction is in progress on transforming the old gas/convenience store on Oakwood and Randolph into a brand new pharmacy express.
The Evans Pharmacy Express will feature fast prescription service with drive up service and delivery. The new pharmacy is an extension of Evans located on west Willow. The new location should be open by the end of August.
Evans has been in the pharmacy business since 1897 and is one of the oldest businesses in town. The company is still family owned and locally operated.
The building once known as the Grand Saloon and several other beer bars has certainly seen better days. The latest wind storms have begun to take a toll on the vintage building. The building is just north of Pastimes on South Grand Ave.
There's been a lot of talk about Convention Hall and EHS graduations lately. So! I thought I would whip out these old photos of the 1981 Enid High Graduation. Does anyone remember how hot it would get? Great memories though.
The bottom picture is the 1981 May Fete ceremony at Government Springs Park. Oh the memories!!
Does anyone recognize this photo? It is thought to be the old Wagon Wheel restaurant in Enid. Stamped on the back of the photo is: Week of Oct 26, '53. Photo Courtesy Linda Davis
