Happy Memorial Day Enid!
It's Memorial Day and we'll all be cooking out, swimming, relaxing and taking it easy. Please do not forget the sacrifice our troops have gone through and what they are going through today. Enid very much appreciates everything our young pilots and troops are doing to protect our freedoms. We are 100% behind you! If you are from Enid and are serving or you have a loved one from Enid serving in the military, we would love to post a story about you. Please send a photo and a story about what serving our country has meant to you. Be safe and return home soon!
Tornado Near Enid Video by KJ Productions
Atwoods Expanding Again!
It sounds like Atwoods will be taking over the old Wal Mart on Garriott to be used as additional warehouse space. It's great to see Enid's large buildings becoming active again. Now, what are we going to do with the old Homeland?
Tornado Chasing Around Enid
Well, it was less than a week ago that me and my daughters sat down and watched Twister. My girls, ages four and six, were mesmerized by the tornadoes and a little frightened that they were near Enid. I assured them that this was only movie magic and these tornadoes were never really near Enid. I had to explain that Enid stays fairly tornado free. Fast forward to today! This afternoon Enid was surrounded by tornadoes on the north and the south. None of the tornadoes made their way into Enid but the cell south of Enid near Bison became huge and spawned at least a half dozen twisters. Being the tornado chaser that I am, I took out after this storm just as it passed Bison. I made it out near Douglas but soon discovered I was on the wrong side of the storm and was getting pelted with high winds, flooding rains and small hail. This cell was one of the largest ever seen in this area. As it stands at the time of this posting, the storm has been going for two hours and has only moved from east of Hennessey to Orlando. The picture is a radar image of the storm as it neared Orlando. Multiple tornadoes were still dropping out of the super cell at this point.
Golfing Hazards!
It appears that the ground crew at Oakwood Country Club has placed a rather large obstacle on the golf course. In reality, last night's storms toppled this tree onto the course.

Boggy Creek between McKeever Dentistry and the Ward Petroleum offices near West Garriott.
Read This And Save Money!
Have you been cruising down West Garriott at the old speed of 40 mph? Have you slowed to 30-35 mph? Well, that's not going to be good enough. The construction speed limit is 25 mph and it is being strictly enforced. We know of multiple drivers that have been stopped and ticketed for doing 30 mph. You have been warned.
Enid Institution Closes
PAK-A-SAK Just weeks after winning the Enid Buzz best burger contest, Pak-A-Sak has closed it's doors. Diners arrived Monday to find the windows covered and closed signs on the doors. It appears as though the owner has placed the business up for sale. Hopefully a new owner will be found soon and this very popular Enid tradition will continue on for years to come. We'll bring you more details as we get them.
