Back in junior high, we used to pay 50 cents to swim in their pool!
I also enjoyed their pool at various times of the day...(and night!).
We stole their fire extinguishers a couple of times. Doh! Did I say that outloud!
Back in the mid-60's, my brothers (3 of us) would bike from the far East side of Enid (near 30th Street) to this place for a dip in the pool. The manager didn't mind as long as we all told him we could swim.
My Mom never knew where we were cause it wasn't a really big deal back then. Kids could run all over Enid in the 50s and 60s and not worry about much. Of course we had better be home or within yelling distance come supper time!
I wonder when they lost their best western affiliation and became a hole in the wall? Looks like they fixed it up really nice now and changed the name. Hopefully people will have a nice place to stay now for years to come.
