Enid Loses A Real Hero
The war in Iraq just became a lot more real and a little closer to home. Bombings this weekend brought the U.S. death toll in Iraq to 4,000 and took the life of an Enid hero.
Staff Sgt. Chris Hake, 26, was killed when his Bradley Fighting Vehicle was hit by an improvised explosive device in southern Baghdad. Four soldiers died, including Chris Hake, and a fifth was injured.
Chris was a member of the 3rd Infantry Division, grew up in Enid and graduated from the Oklahoma Bible Academy in 2000. He lived in Hinesville, Ga., with his wife, Kelli, and 1-year-old son, Gage.
