Martin Luther King Jr. Day in Enid
Enid will celebrate the 20th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday with a march downtown. Starting at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Mark Price Arena, Enid residents are invited to join in a walk around the downtown square.
Mayor John Criner will be on hand to greet the walkers as they gather at the Mark Price Arena. This years guest speakers will be Bishop Phillip H. Porter, an Enid native, and Col. Otha L. Solomon Jr., commander of the 71st Medical Group at Vance Air Force Base.
Entertainment will be provided by a community choir directed by Vicki Baldwin, the Westside Church of God in Christ choir and Ray Fern Parker.
In addition to the speeches and entertainment, light refreshments will be served by King Commission members and the Enid Inter Racial Women's Club.
Everyone is invited to attend.
