The Pharmacy Shuffle
Enid lost a pharmacy, watched one switch ownership, saw another reach 110 years old and now welcomes another. It wasn't that long ago that Phillips Drug closed it's doors in the Indian Hills Shopping Center. But the empty space did not last long. Local residents now have a replacement pharmacy in the same location. Medic Health and Wellness Pharmacy is now open. Beginning hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The owners of Medic Pharmacy are from Shattuck and also have pharmacies in Laverne and Canadian, Texas. Jeff Janzen, former Phillips Drug pharmacist, will be managing pharmacist of the store.
Scheffe Prescription Shops, 127 E. Randolph was sold to Willie Osborn, who owns pharmacies in Vinita and Miami.
Evans Drug, 1110 West Willow, turned 110 years old and welcomed the arrival of Steve Hyden, a long time Scheffe employee now heading up Evans Home Health Equipment business. Evans continues to be family owned and run by local pharmacist Kyle Whitehead.
And so goes the pharmacy shuffle.
