Enid Without A Library
The Enid Library Board has voted that Enid will not return to the current library building located downtown on Maine any time soon, if ever. The Enid Public Library was heavily damaged by a storm in October. While performing the repair work, engineers ran into several other issues with the building, including structural problems and asbestos.
Another problem with the current building is that it is not in compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act regulations.
Is it time for Enid to build a larger, more modern library? Is it time for the library to be moved to a location with better parking?
Follow more discussion at the Enid City Commission Tuesday night. The commission meeting will be 6:30 p.m. at the city administration building, 401 W. Garriott.

I must be getting old. I remember when that library was brand new, and they closed the old Carnegie Library. Wish they hadn't torn that one down. What a wonderful old building.
