So many memories...how about Lamberts, Coldiron's (always a favorite for back to school clothes). Shopping downtown and having lunch at the Woolworth lunch counter with my mom.
Remember the Oxford Hotel? Doyle's Cafe just west of the Pak a Sak? D's Steak house? Not to mention their great steak chef Shorty? He was my Dad.
Does anyone remember the sound of the old, old hardwood floors in the Kress Variety Store when you walked in? Does anyone remember Kress Variety Store being in the old building where the convention center is?
Anyone remember the soda fountain with booths in the Monroe Apts building on the corner of South Monroe and W OKG west of Freddy's?
Does anyone remember Judge Ron Franklin's tiny blue thunderbird convertible-anyone remember the year of the T-bird?
Were you a Bravette or a Legionette at Enid High?
Remember Newman's on the west side of the square?
Does anyone remember the restaurant on Van Buren where all the booths were made of bed headboards? When there was an A&W drive-in? How Jacks would slit open the plastic on the albums "to keep them from warping" in the heat? Seeing how many times you could go up and down the escalators at Evans on a Saturday before the clerks told you to go away.
Was the restaurant on Van Buren Granny's Deli (now Coldwell Banker)?
That must be it!! :) I could only remember something about grandma.
I worked at Granny's Deli during high school and it was fun.
Do the Sanchez's have a Mexican restaurant in Enid? I remember the best food out at the stockyards.
I was in grade school when the railroad dining cars were a restaurant. it was a special event to eat there and I ordered chicken kiev. Oh, that seemed so "fancy" then!
Does anyone remember the slot car track in the old building down by the swimming pool? I think it was a skateing rink before that.
