Store closing leaves many questions
It was exactly one year ago today that Enid was learning about the purchase of the Newmans/Burchardt building downtown. The furniture building at 114 S. Independence had been purchased by Dale Murphy and his wife, Leslie Rives, who owned Comfort Zone Mattress stores, Rest & Recline, Home Trends Furniture and Casa Mexico Rustic Furniture.
The couple relocated a few of their stores to the new location and opened in July under the name City of Furniture.
Today, Dale and Leslie are no longer in control of the business that they built in Enid. Although their stores continue to operate, they are now being run by the creditors that forced them out. The stores most likely will be headed for liquidation and eventual closing.
Dale and Leslie brought a passion for entrepreneurship to Enid and it is sad to see a couple that devoted themselves to helping Enid left in the position that they're in. Many questions are left as to why the couple was forced into bankruptcy court and we hope to have a few answers in the future.

I agree! This makes me very sad.
Thank you for the kind words. Hopefully all is not lost...we haven't given up yet. Everyone keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you to all our customers throughout the years and thanks to everyone who has been so supportive in this very difficult time. Leslie, Dale and family
