Looking for suggestions

Well, we are about to enter our third month as a fully operational website. We've tried to add a little bit of information about as many aspects of Enid as we could. Now we would like to hear from you.

Let us know the areas where we are lacking and the type of information you would be interested in reading about. Our goal is to bring as much about Enid to the Internet as we can. Please help us out with story suggestions, new category ideas and anything fun.

We look forward to hearing from you! Comments welcome.

A little bit of Buzzzzzz!

What a Croc!

Have you seen them? Ever wondered what they are? They're Crocs! The latest footwear craze to hit the country. The kids love the bright colors and adults love them because they're comfortable and easy to slip on and off.

It began in July 2002 when three Boulder, Colorado based founders decided to market the unusual shoe.

Originally intended as a boating/outdoor shoe because of its slip-resistant, non-marking sole, Crocs introduced it's first model, the Beach™, in November 2002 at the Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show. From there, popularity mushroomed. Sales poured in. By 2003 Crocs had become a bona-fide phenomenon, universally accepted as an all purpose shoe for comfort and fashion. Today, Crocs are available all over the world and on the internet.

I found a great selection of Crocs Footwear at Brown's Shoe Store in Westgate Shopping Center. Stop by and tell them we sent you!

Up in smoke...

Two weeks and counting. Second-hand smoke is about to become a thing of the past in Oklahoma restaurants. All Oklahoma restaurants must prohibit smoking or have an enclosed and separately ventilated smoking room by March 1.

Farewell second-hand smoke. Will I miss the stink of someone else's smoke floating over to my table while I'm trying to enjoy the taste of my food? Will I miss the burning of my eyes after eating in a room full of chain smokers? Am I going to miss the stench that stays in my clothes when I take them off at home? Will I miss the thought that my daughters are breathing toxic air by no choice of their own? Am I going to miss the cigarette butts and ashes ground into the carpet? Will I miss burn holes in the chairs and booths? Am I going to yearn for yellow ceiling tiles? Fat chance!

Something to do and it's FREE!

Okay, you can't sit around and say there is nothing to do in Enid. Tonight there is something to do and it's 100% FREE! The Air Force group Tops in Blue will be performing in Enid, tonight at 7pm. This is a must see performance if you have not ever seen them. There is singing, dancing, comedy, lights, music and fun for the entire family.

This world-renown production, Tops In Blue, is an all-active duty US Air Force special unit made up of talented amateur performers selected for their entertainment abilities. Each year, thousands compete in base talent contests and the most talented move on to higher levels of competition. The result is an elite group composed of 35 of the most talented vocalists, musicians, and dancers anywhere. Known as the Air Forces’ Expeditionary Entertainers; the group’s main mission is to perform for military personnel and their families throughout the world. The enormous popularity of the group has also made them America's goodwill ambassadors around the globe.

Happy Groundhog Day

Six more weeks of winter! Punxsutawney Phil says:

It is said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
Around the country there are many imitators of me.

In Harrisburg there is Gus who appears on TV
working for the lottery.

Then all around town,
Cute groundhog statues abound.
They all look like me, I found.

Today on the Knob as I'm doing my job,
I don't like this likeness of me.

It's my shadow I see. Six more weeks of mild winter there will be.

Campus Life

It's so nice to see the life being put back into the old Phillips campus. The new Northern Oklahoma College campus is really looking great. If you spent time walking the NOC campus you might think you were walking to class at Notre Dame in some sections. Here are a few winter photos of NOC if you haven't seen it in a while.
