Congratulations 2006 Homecoming Queen!!
Congratulations to Candace Burton and Matt Athey, your 2006 Football Homecoming King and Queen. Candace and Matt were crowned at Enid High's 1000th game Friday night at D. Bruce Selby Stadium.
Vying for homecoming queen were 17 queen candidates dressed in princess dresses (as my daughters called them) and each rode into the football stadium atop a convertible sports car. There were so many queen candidates that a few vehicles had to be used twice.
The King gave the Queen her traditional letterman sweater, bouquet of roses and the always anticipated King/Queen kiss (on the cheek).
There was a great crowd on hand and those in attendance got to see a fireworks display at the half time show along with the release of 1000 blue and white balloons, in honor of the 1000th game.
